Monster House[]
When Chowder first arrived at DJ's house, he showed DJ the ball as he just bought it. DJ then shots some hoops with, as he tells Chowder that probably too grown up for trick-or-treating. When Chowder makes a shot, he misses and it hits him on his nose causing him to fall onto the driveway. DJ looks at Chowder at where the ball hit him, and tells him he's a dork. As Chowder gets up, he and DJ notice his ball landed onto Nebbercracker's lawn. They run up to Nebbercracker's house and DJ apologizes to Chowder, since his ball landed on Old Man Nebbercracker's lawn, it doesn't exist anymore. Chowder gets sad and explains to DJ he payed $28 for the basketball, every ten yards and asked his Mom for a dollar twenty six times. DJ notices Nebbercracker hasn't came out of his house yet and presumes he might be sleeping, so DJ decides to go retrieve the ball. DJ runs onto the lawn to get the basketball back, but before he could pick the ball up, Nebbercracker comes out and angrily charges towards DJ. DJ tried to get away, but Nebbercracker grabs him and rises him up into the air. As Nebbercracker screams at him, he suddenly has a heart attack and falls down onto the lawn. Nebbercracker was then taken away to the hospital in an ambulance, and Chowder's basketball was nowhere to be found.
Later on, after discovering the house is a possessed monster, and saving Jenny from getting eaten, they walk up to the house. The house's front door suddenly opens and Chowder's basketball comes out. Chowder tried to run up to get it, but DJ keeps him away from the house, as the house was trying to lower him up to it so it can eat him. The house then bounces the ball with its front step and it rolls onto the pathway revealing a Jack-O-Lantern Face has been drawn on it. Chowder suggests it's going to be a blood bath. When the police officers, Lister and Landers arrived, the house bounces the ball back into its door.
Later, when the kids were inside the house in it's basement, Chowder hears his ball bouncing and finds it. Chowder goes after his ball again, as DJ tells him to immediately come back, but Chowder keeps going after it. Chowder catches the ball, but then gets captured by slinkys and is pulled upwards, dropping his ball in the process.
Later, near the end of the film, after the house was defeated, Nebbercracker gives Chowder his basketball back before they head back to DJ's house. Back on the driveway, Chowder tries to again make a shot, but this time gets the ball stuck to the hoop. DJ then suggests since they've been working all night, the two boys go trick-or-treating after all.
